About Jesus

God so Loved the world that He gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but will have eternal life. (John 3:16)

This is the most important page you'll read on this site. Jesus is the word of God made flesh (John 1) which means that Jesus is how God has chosen to reveal himself to the world. We are invited to know God by knowing Jesus which is a relationship of prayer, worship, fellowship and service. We look to work with God in restoring a broken world and making him known so that others can know the love, joy and freedom that comes from knowing him.

Knowing Him is the greatest and most rewarding thing you can do and we'd love to help you explore further. If you want to visit us on a Sunday, we'd love to meet you... alternatively, if you want a chat with the vicar to ask questions or find out more, please do ask... He's always up for coffee!

Can I suggest you check out this short video from Christianity Explored which will give you a bit more insight.

Chat to Jesus

You can always take time to chat to Jesus yourself through prayer. If you've never prayed before, it's simply an intentional conversation with God. You can start by addressing him... something like 'Dear God...' and then tell him how you feel, what you're worried about, what you're thankful for, what you need help with.

Remember, when Jesus taught the disciples to pray, he started with the words 'Our Father'.... In prayer, you are speaking to a loving Father, who created you, knows you and loves you so much!

It's also good to give space to God and listen. Sometimes a thought or a picture or a passage from the bible pops into your head that might speak into your situation or remind you how loved you are!

If you want choose to become a dedicated follower of Jesus, you may like to pray the following prayer, if you do PLEASE let us know HERE so we can pray and support you.

"Dear God, I might not know you as well as I could but I want to, so I choose to follow you. I recognise that I haven't always loved you or loved others the best I can but I want to, so I choose to turn to you. Thank you that by turning to you, you give me a new beginning and a new hope. I believe I am a new creation because of what Jesus did on the cross... taking my place and paying for my sin. Help me live the life that he has given through his death and resurrection by filling me with the Holy Spirit and allowing me to love you with all my heart, mind and soul... and my neighbours as you have loved me. Amen.

God Bless You!!
